Clash of Kings was not as good as the first book. However this book was AMAZING. My favorite book out of the series so far. The story line was great and the action was intense. I honestly recommend this book to all fans of A Song of Ice and Fire. I expect great things from George R.R Martin

I loved this book. I was not impressed with the second book in this series, but this book made up for it. I almost gave up on the series after Clash of Kings, but I am very glad I continued on. The character arcs were all well written and interesting. I was enthralled in the story like I was in the first book. The action and dialogue were great. The twisting and turning plot was back to being top notch. There were many surprises. The fantasy angle was moved to a higher level with magic, giants, monsters and supernatural events taking a larger role. You obviously have to read the other two books for the full effect, but this may have been my favorite of the series. I officially move the Song of Ice and Fire to my must read list for fans of fantasy novels.

Plowing through book three. Several major characters bite the dust and you learn to love those you hate! Need a cliff notes site to clear up some plot lines and refresh my memory too!

An amazing series, so many great twists and turns! Extremely violent, and there are some rather surprising and heart-wrenching parts in this book.....but overall a very good read !!

I'll be the first to admit that this series is often little more than a soap opera dressed up in armor and heraldry. I will also admit that I cannot stop reading it! A few interesting characters and compelling plotlines carry these books through the sometimes melodramatic action and over-the-top description. With each tome of the Song of Ice and Fire series being a legitimate foot-breaker at nearly a thousand pages, it would be easy to pass over as too much of an investment of time. My advice? Do yourself a favor and start this series! A Game of Thrones is the first in this series, - WeareSpartacus/notTom

One of my favorite series of all time! Make sure to start at the beginning though.

The best book of the series so far. Many plots and twists. Read with an open mind. An excellent series.
