Unfortunately I couldn't get into this book. From reading the summary it sounded very intriguing but it was just too slow for me. This is the first book I gave up on half way through.

"Arriving on the Isle of Jersey in the aftermath of painful losses, mythologist Jac L'Etoile investigates the region's Celtic history while participating in her host's exploration of novelist Victor Hugo's mid-19th-century experimentations with séances, through which some believed he communicated with a shadowy supernatural figure. By the best-selling author of The Book of Lost Fragrances." June 2013 Thrillers and Suspense newsletter
