Meet the new Lou! She's thirteen years old, so it's time to stop mooning over the guy who used to be the guy next door. Instead she's heading for a dreamy seaside village with her friends Mina, Mary Emily, and Karen. Let the boy hunt begin! But the first cute boy she spots is Tristan, the guy next door himself! It's the perfect opportunity to rekindle their romance. So why is Lou giving Tristan the cold shoulder? And why can't Tristan strike up a conversation that doesn't end with his foot in his mouth? It doesn't help that Mary Emily is making the moves on Tristan herself. And things get really messy when Lou's mom shows up with a surprise: Lou's old pal Paul! But Paul is just a friend, nothing more, right?

This is definitely a 5 star book but what happened to Lou? She sees Tristan and falls apart. Tristan doesn't even appreciate her as much as Paul does. Paul actually cares about her interests while Tristan's just trying to be cool. Along with this one bad point, there are several amazing points. For one, the graphics are amazing, the plot is interesting, and I love how in the beginning there are little fact files and little games or lists which I enjoy to read. I recommend this book to anyone 10+, or anyone looking to have a laugh, but you should definitely start with The first Lou book, Lou's secret diary. 5 stars for all Lou books!!! ; )

This fourth Lou! volume continues to grow and develop the story's complex, multi-dimensional characters through realistic situations with touch and humor. Excellently done.
