Dangerous was a delightful scifi romp that I sped through in a day. It had compelling characters (including a very science-oriented Latina MC with one arm...who is amazing, and relatable, and was a lovely character to crawl inside for awhile), action, mystery, science, wit, romancey swoons, and a great family/parent dynamic. There's even a lovely bit after the denouement, where the MC has matured just enough to realize the difference between the choice she made a year earlier and the ones she makes now (and her motivation for making them). In all, this was a fun read that kept me invested from the first page to the last page.

I loved every second of this book!! It's a bit . . . 'too much' for younger audiences so I'd wait until you're at least twelve to read this. One of Hale's best books yet and 'dangerously addicting'!!

This book was awesome!! I would highly recommend it to anyone around the age of 11 or 12.
An awesome read, with romance and adventure.

After reading Shannon Hale's Princess Academy books, I was surprised by the sci-fi style in which this book is written. While the plot is good, and I do like the main character, I have a few things that bug me, such as Wilder's pattern of nice, then not, then nice, then not, and the lack of better description of secondary characters. Overall, though, this book was enjoyable and a good, if not realistic, adventure.

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I really enjoyed the adventure, mystery, and action in it! And even though it said for teens (I'm a couple years younger) I think anyone around twelve years old should be fine, I was brave enough to try it at eleven years old XD. By the way if you think its to scary when you see it or read the first few chapters, you don't have to read it.

"Maisie Danger Brown is hardly the standard superhero type: she's a frighteningly smart, homeschooled, half-Paraguayan science nerd who was born without a right hand. She longs to become an astronaut, so she's beyond thrilled to win a spot at space camp, where she and her team get to ride the cutting-edge space elevator. The trip, however, exposes Maisie and her friends to alien nanotechnology, giving them astonishing superpowers that they don't understand and might not be able to control. With fast pacing, nonstop action, and plenty of romantic tension, Dangerous is a great pick for readers of superhero comics as well as for Shannon Hale's devoted fans." Shannon Hale has a blog. Check out what she says about Dangerous. http://oinks.squeetus.com/2014/02/a-dangerous-history.html. I've enjoyed all her books, including this one.
