a character of one of these stories says to Miss Marple: 'you are the most outstanding detective, ever created.' that's sort of spitting in Conan Doyle's eye--eh, what? As well as, i wonder what Hercule Poirot would say to that. Or, M.Dupin.

Miss Marple is not Agatha Christie's most famous detective, but she is a beloved armchair sleuth. These bite-sized adventures are a great introduction or a perfect trip down memory lane.

Well worth the time!

This collection of short stories are wonderfully clever and surprisingly satisfying. And Miss Marple owes all of her crime solving skills to living simply and quietly in a village. So we all can live in hope. Her acumen is cleverly hidden by a fluff of white hair and knitting needles. This will become my disguise when I am a little old lady, if I can live up to such a shining example.

Agatha Christie is always a great read. Even the ones I have read years ago!!
