Add a CommentFormulaic, crude and contrived, it’s a comic book look at spy craft. Stick with Le Carre if you’re looking for art — for the real deal.
Sex and violence! That's what it's all about.
Predictable Macho BS! Filled with unnecessary sex scenes! All the female agents are super models, etc. Not what I expected! I was turned off!
I found the TV series the Unit about the Delta Force more appealing!
One of the best shows on television!
Great action, great humour, and plots that mirror geopolitics recently!
Viewer discretion is advised though.
This is actually Season 2 of STRIKE BACK. Very few people are aware that a first series of 6 episodes was made, for the British market, with Richard Armitage in the lead role, and Andrew Lincoln (of WALKING DEAD) as the villain. When it was announced that a second series would be made, with the U.S. cable channel CINEMAX involved, Armitage declined to do it, as he was already filming THE HOBBIT in New-Zealand. He did agree to make a cameo appearance in the first episode of the second series though, and it is his character's abduction and murder that sets the event of series 2 in motion, and introduces us to the two new characters that would star in the show from now on. A fifth series of STRIKE BACK was scheduled to go into production earlier this year but while on a publicity tour in Thailand for his movie "300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE" actor Sullivan Stapelton was badly hurt in a road accident and suffered a serious head injury. Production for the new series was thus pushed back to early next year, with a late-2015 or early-2016 airing on Cinemax. And it will be the last series, according to the production team.
Macho escape, non-stop action, frequent sex, and a plunging plot. Great to see a bunch of epidodes in a back-to-back all night binge !
Some of the firefights are a bit magical, others are better done.
Suspend disbelief and political correctness,.. so you can enjoy your bad self !
Very good episode. It is better made than a lot of action movies.
Pornographic smut. Returned with note to library.
Michael Stonebridge and Damien Scott together with the secretive British Section 20 team travel the globe in search of an international terrorist in season one of Strike Back. Scott is a former US Delta Force operative who was framed and then dishonorably discharged just before the Iraq War. Stonebridge is a sergeant in the British anti-terrorist unit called Section 20. Stonebridge and Section 20 recruit Scott for a mission to find a terrorist named Latif who is planning a dramatic WMD attack. The Section 20 team follow various leads as they travel to India, South Africa, Sudan and several European locations in their hunt for Latif. Strike Back is a fast paced and action packed drama that includes some of the worst of human behavior as well as plenty of extreme violence.
