As expected, Pinkney's illustrations got to the heart of the characters' humanity and were the highlight of the book for me. The repetitive text would make this good for preschoolers or kindergarteners. Reading it with children this age could be an interactive experience because they will likely want to help Sophie locate Grandpa's missing possessions.
