Agatha retires to the Cotswold village of Carsely, where 20-year residents are still called ``incomers''. Trouble happens when she enters a quiche in the local contest. There is a tv series as well.
Agatha Raisin is obstinate, blunt, imperfect, vulnerable and ultimately likable. I highly recommend you read this book before reading the rest of the series so you get the background on Agatha's character.
I don't understand the fascination with Agatha Raisin. I found her annoying. She self-sabotages and doesn't seem to learn anything from her previous behaviour. Not what I am looking for in an amateur sleuth.
