Adam, his best friend the red pup, and his family live in a cabin in the Wyoming territory. When Adam's stepfather leaves for a long trip to Cheyenne, three cutthroat gold prospectors crash into the cabin and hold the family at gunpoint. Adam escapes, and the men let the red pup loose.
