The heroine of this film is an out-of-work lesbian artist whose girlfriend has just died. Her family and the town she lives in are homophobic, so she doesn't have any one to acknowledge her grief. She re-connects with her mother and brother, although their lives are so different from her they come off as cartoons or bad jokes. It's quite sad in places.
