On this album she continues to live up to being the epitome of malaise of postmodernity. Songs of falling in love, having a crummy job, being a groupie, smoking, dating a loser, and going to a concert are offset by track 12, which exemplifies the soft brutality of her songs - everything turns to blood. The album ends on a positive note, however, with tracks 15 and 16. Track 6 would have been good without the rap. Five of the songs feature other performers. On the whole its well engineered and produced. I most liked tracks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 11, and 14.

This album was quite the rollercoaster of songs. It ranges from happy songs for when you're in a bright mood, to songs you listen to when you've just had a bad day. Lana Del Rey's voice has almost a vintage touch to it, which is refreshing in a time of songs that all sound like the same few people. This album would be good for people who like today's music with a bit of a twist. The instrumentals are nice, but allow for Lana's voice to be showcased perfectly. There are moments when it's just singing with no instruments in the background, and it adds a sense of vulnerability to the songs. The audio quality is very high, which is impressive by today's standards since this album is 3 years old. Most of the songs on Lust for Life have a story to them, or a deeper meaning. This is nice because it's a good change from a lot of the repetitive lyrics of other pop songs. My personal favourite songs on this album are Love, Get Free, Cherry, and Groupie Love. If you don't like slower or sad music, you may enjoy In My Feelings and Summer Bummer the most. Lana Del Rey's music style would be best described as alternative with a touch of rock. There is some profanity in some songs and mentions of heavy topics, so be aware of that. Overall, I give this album a 5/5, loved it!- @peraltiago4ever of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

I agree with the reviewers saying this album is as uneven as her others. Still worthwhile if you enjoy her whole Old Hollywood shtick, which I do. It’s really just more of the same; she continues to give us an easy, breezy American fantasy, which is exactly what I want from Lana! My favourite tracks off the album are Love, Lust for Life, and Cherry. Her music always makes me want to get in a convertible and drive to California.

Like Del Rey's other albums, this one is very uneven. It contains some amazing songs - Love, Lust for Life, and Coachella - and some not-so-amazing. It's definitely worth a listen, if you like her other work.

American torch singer releases another somnambulant effort for weary millennials. I am not one. Personally I like Martha Davis of the motels and that chick who sang for Romeo void. I still like Lana, though.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I thoroughly enjoy Lana del Rey's songwriting and dreamy, Old Hollywood persona. Her fourth studio album Lust For Life isn't a significant departure from her previous albums when it comes to instrumentation and song construction, which infuse hip hop beats with soaring string accompaniments. However, lyrically, she takes a dynamic shift from Honeymoon by discussing the identity crisis facing millennials across America in the wake of political disharmony and ultimately leaving listeners with a sense of hope for the future. This in turn is what makes Lust for Life her most impactful and inspiring album to date. If you weren't a fan before, this won't convert you. But, I loved every second of it, especially her collab with rock legend (and one of my personal icons) Stevie Nicks.
