"In Existential Psychoanalysis, a classic in the philosophical defense of freedom, individuality, and human dignity, Sartre criticizes modern psychology in general, and Freud's determinism in particular." "Sartre's existential understanding of man, his rejection of naturalistic or mechanical determinism, and his affirmation of man's ultimate freedom and responsibility lead him to a brilliant and coruscating critique of Freudianism and to an outline of how an existential psychoanalysis might be developed."--BOOK JACKET.Title Summary field provided by Blackwell North America, Inc. This is nothing other than four chapters from Being and Nothingness. This translation is readable, though I cannot comment on its fidelity to the original. This is apparently the starting point of much of modern phenomenological and existential psychology.
