Comment
Add a Commentnow hold on, people: the show was THE pioneer sitcom, inventing such things as live audiences, check out how even now the laugh track is overused, such as on BIG BANG THEORY. Also the technique of multiple cameras, and each episode was filmed, not video-ed. Can't you tell the difference? It has not aged that well, true, and lucy's act is old, old, old. But, familiarity breeds success, doesn't it? I especially enjoyed their 'cross-country trip to Hollywood.' Check out the episode with Harpo Marx to appreciate the natural born comedic talents of Ms. Arnaz. Oh, that's a later season, i am sure. Anyway, check it out. I liked it also when they ' moved to Connecticut,' changing sets. Surely that is even later in the series. Don't mean to spit on the 2nd season. Just saying. 1rst show to go off the air whilst rated #1 in the Nielsen ratings (the non-intrusive ratings system of the day).
Fun! Just plain ol' fun. :-) Outrageous, yes. And sometimes Ricky makes me cringe. And Lucy's crying tantrums are annoying.
But, hey. It's fun! And I could tell, during "We're Having a Baby," that the emotions overflowing there weren't Lucy and Ricky's. They were Lucille and Desi's. Now that was something.
Oh! And if you can appreciate good old-fashioned audio entertainment, take a listen to some of the episodes of My Favorite Husband. They're under "Lucy on the Radio" in the DVD bonus material. Some really good stuff there--just as funny as (and sometimes funnier than) the TV show that came afterward.
I Love Lucy is an incredibly funny show starring the incomparable Lucille Ball.
Yes. Even though, at times, Lucille Ball's character did grate on my nerves, I'll gladly admit that the "I Love Lucy Show" was a real classic of TV Sit-Coms from the good, old 1950s.
Brilliantly scripted with characters that were as vivid and well-defined as you're ever gonna see - This show is probably one of the most imitated comedy, TV programs of all-time.
This complete, 2nd season of "I Love Lucy" contains some real hilarious gems..... (*Watch video-clip*)
It is only ok. I suggest you dont rent it, the disks where very scratched to the point of not playing. :(
Lucy's not that funny- there someone said it ( the Emperor has no clothes ). One of the most overrated shows ever made.
