Witty and entertaining!

Ellen is clever and funny. I loved this book!

My experience was identical to Mogie's experience, written in a review below. It says: "I finished it because it was a easy read. Otherwise, I did not find the book particularly insightful or funny. I much prefer Ellen in person. The writing style was too rambley and did not engage me. Perhaps the Audiobook would have been better."

It was a very easy read but VERY MUCH a huge rambling mess. Sure, I found myself laughing out loud a few times, but more often, I found myself skimming over random thought bursts and drawn-out fake scenario stories. Only Ellen could write a book like this and get away with it....

Seriously… I’m Kidding (Ellen DeGeneres) is probably my favourite of the many autobiographies I’ve read. I don’t think I stopped laughing throughout the time I read it. It was a perfect balance of witty, silly and quirky. It was also a really meaningful read. Ellen included many personal mottos and messages to live by, and some of them changed the way I viewed the world. Ellen is such an inspiring person to me and to many others, and it was interesting to get her take on what makes her that way. Through the wonderful humour shone her courage and outgoing nature. This made it a truly lovely book, and I will continue to learn from it.

I am a huge Ellen fan so I will just have to pretend I never read this book. Rambling, nonsensical, waste of time. Seriously--I am not kidding.

I found this to be a marvellously insightful book. The stories have a witty charm, just like Ellen herself. A great light read for anyone who loves to laugh.
