Ever heard the expression if the government could figure out a way to tax oxygen, they would? Well, that is the premise for Breathe. Quinn is the spoiled rich kid given everything he wants including extra air to exercise and real fruit. Bea is middle class forced to walk no faster than 3 mph and dine on protein enhanced cakes. Alina is a fighter, a terrorist who believes the government is pulling the wool over everyone's eyes. Together they knit a story that will drive them all to examine their broken world differently. This book is one of those that I hated as much as I liked. I thought Bea was an awesome character, fully developed and easy to cheer for. Quinn and Alina took me more time to warm up to.  To me, Breathe is a frightening example of what power and the love of money can create. The author's writing is compelling and leaves you waiting for the next ball to drop. If anything other than learning to appreciate every breath you take, this book has accomplished enough
